What ARE they? Starfish?
Yep, starfish. Aren't they beautiful! They were a lovely bluey grey colour and there were millions of them.
We don't have starfish that shade here - ours are whitish grey. Is the water warm enough to swim?
There were some pretty pinkish and greenish starfish too.
The water in Tasmania was FREEEEEZING even in summer. My boys swam on a couple of occasions but my toes turned to ice as soon as they hit the water. I really wanted to swim in the Great Southern Ocean, just to say I had and to experience it, but it was way too cold. I prefer our more northern waters.
What a lovely, exotic place you live in!--both you and Islandsparrow. I wonder what you would think of my neighborhood. Sometimes I find myself wishing for more beautiful natural surroundings, but then I must remind myself that God has planted me here and He gives me beauty and eyes to see it, even in my own Midwest neighborhood.
And yet I wonder if that "hiraeth" for the beauty of places I've not (yet?) seen is part of my longing for the heavenly realms.
Do they have hard shells? May sound like a dumb question but I don't know much about starfish... and in the picture they almost look soft and squishy.
Just wondering...

momrn2,
Starfish are VERY soft and squishy! and sucky. They're great!
