Shoes Off at the Door Please has a great article on Tramplian and Offalist Theology. You really must check it out.

It's not as weird as this picture.
I promise.

I concur: horrible picture, but strangely interesting.

I am an Offalist and not just because I love to go bare foot.

Well, I must say that was a different kind of article. Maybe I'm a 3 point Offalist :) Weird picture (maybe you should post it on Youtube!)

I am definitely an offalist. Without a doubt.

Our whole family kicks off shoes before coming into the house. That means our house or anyone else's house. Its an ingrained habit. Tom and I both grew up in homes where this was the accepted protocol.

Having said that, I don't ask my guests to slip off their shoes. I want my guests to feel comfy and some people feel exposed without their shoes.

And I agree; the picture is a bit unsettling.

Kim, I think you'd be a great hostess.

Kim, some of your guests might like to take their shoes off, but would not want to do so if other people are wearing shoes.

While it certainly is important to make guests feel comfortable, the needs of your own family matter. A home wear no shoes allowed will be much cleaner and healthier.

If guests are told in advance that shoes need to come off, it will not come as a shock and they can bring some slippers so that they will not be uncomfortable.

Every Blessing in Christ
